Maz’s Cantina Takodana
Entering the cantina, you notice in a corner of the room your contact Mu Nanb (the Sullustan rebel sympathizer) is meeting with another familiar face, the Bothan spy Ota.
“Greetings friends”, the Bothan gestures for you to sit and then clears his throat, “My apologies, I should have been more forthcoming with you before. But then I was still uncertain of your allegiance. Based on the timing of your arrival, I would guess you are here to find Maht-Nath.”
He glances at Chi-Nath, “I should have mentioned I knew your uncle. I also knew of his mission. His transport came out of hyperspace in this system almost 3 days ago. Unfortunately, they were followed minutes later by one of the Empire’s Marauder-Class Assault Corvette. Your uncle’s transport was no match for that. The transport was quickly disabled, briefly boarded by a shuttle and then destroyed. Before that, luckily, they managed to get a few quick communications sent off. One communication came to Mu Nanb here informing him that they were successful in stealing the plans. As far as we know the plans are on board the Empire’s ship.”
“We presume the crew were mostly Bothans and Maht-Nath was in charge. In our opinion, they will have kept at least one of the crew alive most likely your uncle. They will want to interrogate someone to make sure the plans were not jettisoned or transmitted. Likely, they will also want to examine the plans to see exactly what might have gotten into the hands of the alliance. One troubling aspect is that before leaving the Takodana system, a shuttle disembarked the corvette and left separately via hyperspace. They were both headed core ward albeit in slightly different directions.”
“Hopefully, the shuttle is just insurance that the plans reach their intended destination. It is also our hope that your uncle and plans both remain on the corvette. We have tried to speculate on the possible destinations for the Corvette, but we’ve only thought of 2 likely destinations: Coruscant and the prison world of Kessel.”
“Mu Nanb can provide you with Imperial uniforms and storm trooper armor and I have here the plans for the Merciless.”
Leaving Takodana
As you prepare to leave the atmosphere of Takodana in your borrowed Lambda Class shuttle, Z3 picks up an incoming ship on the sensors and brings it up on the console. It is a YT-1300 light freighter which Kale immediately recognizes as his old Centennial Sparrow.
“Incoming communication from the approaching vessel. It is currently at long range.”, Z3 brings up the visual.
“Well if it isn’t my old friends”, Trex snears, “I knew one of these days you’d fail to notice the transponder. I’m happily surprised that you left in such a hurry from Cloud City. It was truly thoughtless to leave your ship unattended while you were there. Disengage your engines, drop your shields, power down your weapons and prepare to be boarded.”
Infiltrating the Merciless
“Plan transfer has started. Over.”, Jun-jo the Tie-Fighter pilot states over the com channel.
“Leave those they are superfluous False Master”, Z3 closes the console’s screen and passes Chi-Nath at the safe.
Chi-Nath and Kale head to the turbo lift while Z3 enters the equipment access tunnel. The turbo lift seems to take a while to arrive and when it opens a sergeant and 3 storm troopers are in the lift with weapons raised.
“Raise your hands, enter the lift and face the wall. Good, now hands behind your back,” the sergeant commands as the troopers fasten the manacles.
“Lets bring the imposter trooper down to the brig before bringing the ‘officer’ back up to the bridge and get his helmet off so I can see his face… Well I guess we’ve found ourselves another dog.”
“Plan transfer has completed. Engaging hyperdrive.”
There is a loud sound of the Turbo-laser fire from the Corvette’s weapons.
“I’ve got 10 stormies entering the hangar from the stern. They are moving in with 2 E-Web heavy repeating blasters. I repeat 2 blasted E-Webs. Requesting orders!!! Damn the aperture is closing!!”, Shakti, the rebel gunner, yells.
Keep in mind that Z3, Kale, Shakti and Groz have comlink access and, other than Kale, can speak freely. Chi-Nath managed to relay the intended destination of the prisoners before his helmet (inluding his comlink access) was removed.
